Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal held a meeting with the corporation officials and directed that this work should be completed within a month. Apart from this, a detailed discussion was also held in the meeting regarding the disposal of fresh garbage.

Vipul Goyal was addressing a review meeting at the PWD Rest House after inspecting the Bandhwari plant in Gurugram on Monday.

Faridabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dhirendra Khadagta, Gurugram DC Ajay Kumar and Gurugram Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya along with senior officials of the Municipal Corporation and GMDA were present in the meeting.

Cleanliness system is better

During the meeting, the cabinet minister took a detailed report from the municipal corporation officials about the work done so far regarding the cleanliness system of the city. He said that Gurugram is a global city and the message of the efforts made here reaches the international level.

Therefore, it is necessary that the concerned authorities ensure cleanliness as well as quick improvement in the marked sites of C&D waste (construction and demolition debris).

Cleanliness drive will be conducted at ward level, winning ward will be honoured
Cabinet Minister Vipul Goyal directed the Municipal Corporation officials to implement the cleanliness system in a better manner.

He said that by making changes in the previously prescribed procedure, each ward should be considered as an independent unit and there should be no shortage of any kind of resources in it.

He gave clear instructions that for the management of C&D waste in each ward, one JCB machine, three tractors and a team of four to five employees should be attached with the concerned ward councilor.

Also, the concerned junior engineer and SDO from the corporation should also be included in that team. After the availability of the prescribed resources, an intensive cleaning campaign should be run in every ward for one month.

He said that the ward doing the best work during this campaign will also be honored with a cash prize by the Chief Minister.

In the meeting, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner said that the tender for disposal of C&D waste will be allotted before August 10.

Secondary garbage collection points will be covered

The cabinet minister told the municipal corporation officials that the secondary garbage collection points in the city should be covered up to a certain height so that only the movement of vehicles can be seen from outside. This will not only reduce pollution but will also improve the level of cleanliness.

Fill the potholes and repair the roads

The Cabinet Minister also directed in the meeting that the potholes caused on the city roads due to monsoon should be marked now so that the work of their repair can be started immediately after the rainy season ends.
