Gurugram. Due to the construction of underpass at Vatika Chowk, the work of shifting the master water pipeline has started on Tuesday. Water supply has been stopped from the boosting station located in Sector-51.
Water supply will remain closed till 6 pm on Wednesday. Due to this, water supply to lakhs of people in 33 sectors and other areas of the city will be affected.
Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has said that the work of constructing an underpass at Vatika Chowk is going on by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and for this the master water supply line is being shifted.
Due to water cut here, Sector-42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62 , 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, Water supply has been affected in village Badshahpur and other sectors. GMDA had already appealed due to which people stored the required water.
Underpass work completed, may start next month
All the work on Vatika Chowk underpass has been completed and after the line shift, it is likely to be opened for traffic next month. Road marking work is going on in the underpass. The 825 meter underpass is being constructed at a cost of Rs 109 crore. 80 percent work of this underpass has been completed. After the pipeline is shifted, it will be opened for traffic. It is being said that the underpass can be started in the next one month.
