Gurugram News: All five projects of Mahira Builder canceled, bank accounts frozen

Gurugram. Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority has canceled all the five ongoing projects of Mahira Builder in Gurugram. Thousands of investors have invested crores of rupees in these five projects. Even after investors gave 95 percent of the amount, the builder did not complete the project on time. These orders of RERA have dealt a major blow to thousands of investors.

The Authority considers it appropriate to cancel the registration of the affordable housing projects registered by this Authority under the provisions of Section 7 (1) (a), (b) and (d) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016. The authority has directed under section 7(4)(a) that the promoter will be barred from accessing its website in respect of those projects. Along with this, the promoter will be blacklisted and included in the list of defaulters on the authority’s website.

Under Section 7(4)(c) of the Act, it is directed that the respective banks maintaining the bank accounts of the projects shall keep the accounts of the projects frozen till further orders. This is without prejudice to the statutory rights of the allottees under the provisions of the RERA Act 2016 and the rules and regulations made thereunder, the authority said.

After looking into the facts of the case and the details brought on record during the proceedings, the Authority is satisfied that the Promoter has knowingly violated various provisions under the RERA Act 2016 and rules and regulations. The promoter has illegally diverted the deposits of innocent home buyers in all his five projects.

RERA took action after inset inspection

Five affordable housing projects under the name Mahira Homes of Mahira Infratech Pvt Ltd were started in Gurugram. In which Mahira Homes Sector-68, Mahira Homes Sector-104, Mahira Homes Sector-103, Mahira Homes Sector-63A and Mahira Homes Sector-95. The authority had earlier inspected the progress of construction work at all these five project sites on February 14. After this this action has been taken.

Version

Mahira Home Promoter has defaulted in various accounts. Being the custodian of the RERA Act, it is the duty of the authority to protect the rights of the allottees. In such a situation, there is no option left except to cancel the registration of all five of their projects. – Arun Kumar, RERA Chairman, Gurugram.
