Municipal Corporation Gurugram has not received a single rupee from Haryana Urban Development Authority. Corporation officials have written letters to HSVP several times but have not received any positive response so far. This situation is not only causing financial crisis for the Municipal Corporation but is also creating shortage of resources required for urban development.
New Gurugram:Â Even after eight years of transfer of the sector to Municipal Corporation Gurugram by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP), the Municipal Corporation has not received even one percent of the revenue amount from it.
In 2016, when HSVP handed over various sectors to the Municipal Corporation, a condition was set that 75 per cent of the extension fees, transfer fees and other revenue collected from the allottees living in these sectors would be given to the Municipal Corporation every month.
Questions raised on the efficiency of corporation officials
Apart from this, 50 percent of the profit earned on the unsold sites sold in these sectors was also to be given to the Municipal Corporation. However, even after eight years, the Municipal Corporation officials have not been able to recover even a single rupee from HSVP in this regard.
How much amount should the Municipal Corporation get?
This clearly raises questions on the efficiency of the municipal corporation officials. The situation is so bad that in the budget proposed by the Municipal Corporation for the year 2025-26, only one lakh rupees of income has been proposed in the name of HSVP share. Whereas from the year 2016 till now, the Municipal Corporation should have received an amount of crores of rupees.
This shows that the corporation no longer has any hope from HSVP. The Municipal Corporation is already spending heavily on roads, sewers, street lights, cleanliness and other infrastructure in these sectors, but it is not getting any revenue in return.
The councillor raised the issue in the house meeting
This issue was raised strongly by Municipal Councilor Vikas Yadav from Ward 22 in the House meeting on Tuesday. If the corporation does not collect its revenue in this manner, then the corporation may face a financial crisis in the coming time. An attempt was made to talk to the Municipal Commissioner in this regard but he did not pick up the phone.
