Gurugram. A fire broke out in shops in Khandsa vegetable market area late Saturday night. The fire started from a shop, after which three-four nearby shops also got caught in the fire. The shops that caught fire included shops selling cheese, fruits and vegetables and other goods. As soon as information about the fire was received, eight fire tenders from Sector-37 fire station reached the spot to extinguish the fire.
According to fire department officials, the cause of the fire is not yet known. There is a possibility of fire due to short circuit or fireworks. As soon as the fire broke out, there was panic among the people of Khandsa Mandi area and a large number of people gathered on the spot.
The fire brigade brought the fire under control within half an hour, but the firefighters remained busy till late night to completely extinguish the fire. Due to the fire, the goods kept in the shops were burnt, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees.
