A female doctor was reported to have been harassed, abused and threatened, while her car was damaged by two men in Gurgaon’s South City‑II area on Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 pm, when the doctor, a resident of Sohna, was passing near Shishpal Vihar with her husband. Two youths travelling in a Delhi‑registered black Toyota allegedly blocked their vehicle. As the doctor stopped to reverse, the two accused allegedly began molesting her and behaved in an objectionable manner.

When she protested and said she would call the police, the accused became aggressive and started abusing her. They also damaged the windshield of her vehicle. As bystanders gathered, the men fled in their car after threatening her with consequences and harm.

After the incident, the doctor approached Sadar police station. Police registered an FIR under Sections 324(4) (mischief causing damage), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75(2) (sexual harassment), 79 (acts or words intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

During the investigation, one accused was identified and arrested on 10 June. The arrested individual is Paras Thakaran, a resident of Malibu Town in Sector 47, Gurgaon. Police said that an argument broke out between the woman and the accused while their vehicles were overtaking each other near a turn. Further legal action will be taken as per procedure.

Police are continuing to investigate and have not yet located or arrested the second accused involved in the incident.
