Police reached the scene after reports emerged of a suspicious scooter parked near a kofojg company in Housebara village around 4:00 PM on Sunday. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a lifeless body inside the vehicle. Initial checks confirmed the deceased as Rahul Bidhuri (30), a kirana trader from P4 block who operated a grocery shop in Ekotech Vihar.
Forensic officers examined the area and recovered a pistol near the scooter. Police noted the presence of a bullet casing in the weapon, suggesting it had been fired. The shooter’s foot imprint was visible on the driver’s seat, leading investigators toward a suicide hypothesis.
A forensic team was summoned to the site to collect critical evidence. Postmortem procedures are scheduled, with an autopsy planned afterward. The victim’s family arrived at the location after receiving news of the death.
Eekootech-1 police station has taken custody of the body, which will undergo further medical examination before being sent for postmortem.
