A 13-year-old boy was found murdered near a forested stretch in South Delhi’s Bhatti Mines area on Wednesday, a day after his family reported him missing from Maidan Garhi. Police confirmed the parents, both labourers, had lodged a complaint at the local police station on Tuesday when the child could not be traced, following which a kidnapping case and a missing person report were registered.
During the investigation, officers identified that two other minor boys from the same area were also untraceable. The juveniles were located and questioned soon after. During inquiry, they allegedly admitted to taking the 13-year-old to the Bhatti Mines area and stabbing him to death over a minor disagreement. Acting on their statements, police recovered the victim’s body from the wooded site on Wednesday morning.
Both accused minors have been apprehended, and further investigation is in progress.
