MCD continuously carries out works related to public interest to provide better facilities to the citizens. For this the corporation needs funds. The biggest source of income of the corporation is property tax, with the help of which the corporation carries out many of its civic works, but there are many property owners under Delhi Municipal Corporation who have not paid their tax for a long time. .

Despite continuous issuance of notices and appeals by the Corporation, many property owners are neglecting to deposit house tax, in view of which the Corporation has now decided to take legal action against such people.

Action will be taken against these defaulters-

For this, the Tax Assessment and Collection Department of Delhi Municipal Corporation has analyzed the data related to property tax liability of all the property tax payers of Delhi and has identified all those property tax payers whose outstanding amount of property tax is more than Rs 25 lakh. According to the Corporation Act, it is the responsibility of the landowner to pay the correct property tax.

Delhi Municipal Corporation will soon take legal action and file prosecution against all these property tax defaulters. According to the Corporation Act, in case of non-payment of outstanding property tax amounting to more than Rs 25 lakh, there is a provision of rigorous imprisonment of 3 months to 7 years and fine up to 50 percent of the outstanding property tax.

Get solution of UPIC ID-

The Property Tax Department of Delhi Municipal Corporation has uploaded the data related to property tax on the website of the corporation. Personal information of property taxpayers has not been given in the uploaded data. In the data uploaded on the website of the corporation, data of property tax of authorized colonies, unauthorized-regular colonies, residential properties of more than 100 square meters in rural villages and authorized colonies is available. The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of the Corporation has appealed that if any property has more than one UPIC ID, then get this error rectified from the concerned regional office.

How to make UPIC ID-

Delhi Municipal Corporation Delhi has appealed to all citizens to check the property tax data uploaded on the corporation’s website. If the data of properties is not available on the website of the corporation, it means that they are not paying property tax. According to Delhi Municipal Corporation, all those landowners whose data is not available on the corporation’s website can get their UPIC ID made through the corporation’s portal mcdonline.nic.in/portal. The last date for making UPIC ID is December 31, 2023. In case of non-payment of correct property tax, strict action will be taken as per the Corporation Act.

Defaulters should make payment soon-

Delhi Municipal Corporation has appealed to all the remaining property tax defaulters by matching the property tax data base available with the corporation with the database prepared from third party data like building registry, electricity bill, GST registration, licensing registration data and appealed to all the remaining property tax defaulters to pay their taxes as soon as possible. Get your UPIC ID made and pay the property tax, otherwise a case will be filed against them in the courts.
