Half a dozen armed goons robbed a warehouse in Bilaspur, Gurugram. The guard and his family were held hostage and transformer parts and cash worth Rs 7500 were looted. The police have registered a case of general theft while the guard’s family has said that it was a robbery by armed goons.
Gurugram. A case of robbery by half a dozen armed criminals in a vacant warehouse located near GITM company on Bilaspur Tawadu Road has come to light on Wednesday night. The guard appointed to look after the warehouse told that the criminals held the family hostage for two hours at gunpoint and other weapons, made them stand against the wall and took away the transformer parts and cash worth Rs 7500. Meanwhile, Bilaspur police station has registered a case of general theft in this matter. When asked, they said that this is the complaint they have received.
The guard’s family told the incident
Harkesh Kumar, originally from Ganesh Rai village in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed to look after this warehouse. He lives in the warehouse with his family. The family consists of his 18-year-old son Rahul, three daughters and wife. Harkesh said that on Wednesday night they were sleeping separately. Around 1 o’clock in the night, half a dozen miscreants entered the warehouse by cutting the wire on the wall. Everyone’s mouths were tied.
Everyone had sticks, screwdrivers, wrenches and other weapons in their hands. The miscreants threatened to kill them if they shouted. They tied the hands of all the family members and made them stand against the wall. They took away their mobiles. They destroyed the guard room. They picked up the stuff and scattered it. After this, they opened the electric transformer and took away the stuff and Rs. 7500 from the guard room.
The family said that some people were with them and some were busy searching for the goods. Everyone was held hostage for two hours. After this, everyone fled from there. The family informed the warehouse owner and the police about the incident in the morning. On Thursday also, when the police came here to investigate, the family told them about the incident. Harkesh’s son Rahul also said that the miscreants had a pistol and kept them at gunpoint.
FIR lodged for theft in police station
In this incident, on the complaint of Harkesh Kumar, Bilaspur police station has registered an FIR under section 305, 3(5). It is written in it that on Wednesday night three to four people entered the warehouse by cutting the wires of the wall and stole goods from the electric transformer in the warehouse and Rs 7500 from the guard room. There is no mention in the FIR about half a dozen miscreants entering, being armed or tying up the family.
When Inspector Dilbag Singh, in-charge of Bilaspur police station, was asked about this, he said that the FIR has been registered on the basis of the complaint. When he was told about the family informing him about the incident, he said that the family is making up a story. The police have verified the incident and have also questioned the owner of the warehouse.
