On the morning of 18 June 2026, drivers of overloaded dumpers near Chaksenpur in the Dadarri police jurisdiction of Greater Noida abandoned their loads on the Eastern Peripheral Highway (EPH). The sudden appearance of large stones and red‑coloured sand on the carriageway caused immediate disruption to the busy arterial road.
According to local police reports, the dumpers were carrying heavy construction material when an RTO (Regional Transport Office) patrol vehicle entered the area. Fearing punitive action, the truck drivers used jacks to tip the loads directly onto the highway, scattering stones and sand across both lanes.
The unexpected debris created a hazardous situation within seconds. Several vehicles travelling at normal speed struck the stones, leading to multiple tyre punctures.
