Gurgaon Mock drill Security drill is being conducted in Gurugram today. There will be a blackout at 7:50 pm. Do not panic during this time, this is just a mock drill aimed at teaching caution in an emergency situation. Air raid warning siren will sound. The district administration and police are jointly conducting operation drills to ensure the safety of Gurugram.
A mock drill is being conducted on Wednesday as per the instructions issued by the Union Home Ministry to ensure the safety of people in an emergency situation amid tension with Pakistan. The siren will sound at 4 pm. A blackout will be done at 9 pm. A series of meetings of officials continued throughout the day on Tuesday to prepare for Wednesday’s mock drill.
The district administration has completed its preparations regarding this. In this regard, Gurugram DC Ajay Kumar, CP Vikas Arora and the officer associated with Operation Abhyas gave information in the control room located at the Mini Secretariat.
The DC said that this is an effort for awareness, the district residents should not panic about the drill, the exercise is being done to create awareness about the necessary precautions during an emergency situation, due to which there will be a blackout in the district from 7.50 pm to 8 pm. The schools where the mock drill is to be organized have been informed.
What to do before the drill
Charge your phone and power bank the night before
Keep basic items/emergency supplies ready -Battery/solar powered flashlights, torches, radios, glow sticks
Keep a valid ID card with you
Keep a family emergency kit ready, like water, dry food, basic medicines
Awareness of alerts -Learn siren signals (e.g. long continuous = alert, short = all clear) -Keep watching radio/TV for official updates How to prepare for a safe zone
Identify safe interior rooms or basements as shelters
Practice family drills, turn off lights, gather in a safe zone within 1-2 minutes
Note down emergency numbers
Police: 112 -Fire: 101 -Ambulance: 120
Do not use lifts between 7 and 8 pm.
Deactivate lifts so that there is no inconvenience during blackouts.
Prepare elderly/children in advance.
What to do during the exercise
If you hear air raid sirens or announcements – “This is an exercise” do not panic.
During a blackout: -Stay indoors and away from windows.
If you are driving, park your vehicle on the side and turn off the lights. Stay where you are and do not move around.
Switch off all indoor and outdoor lights during the alert, including disconnecting the inverter or alternative power supply Switch off gas or electrical appliances when a blackout is announced or a siren is triggered.
Do not use phones or LED devices near windows.
In the prayer meetings of schools on Wednesday morning, children were informed about the necessary precautions during blackout. CEO of Zila Parishad Jagnivas has been made the incident commander and Additional Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Gurugram Mahabir Prasad will be the manager of the staging area built at Tau Devi Lal Stadium. The conference hall located in the Mini Secretariat has been made the Emergency Operation Center/Command Control Center (Control Room).
Five task forces were formed
Five task forces will be present in the staging area. Akhilesh Kumar JC One will lead team one, Vishal JC Two will lead team two, Jaiveer Yadav JC Three will lead team three, Sumit Kumar JC Four will lead team four and Ankit Chaukse SDM Badshahpur will lead team five.
For the mock drill, rescue operations will be conducted at the incident sites from the staging area. The task force will include officers and employees of Civil Defense, Health, SDRF, Police, Fire and other departments.
