Problem of waterlogging on Delhi-Jaipur highway will be resolved soon, GMDA is doing this work fast

Gurugram. Though not in the upcoming monsoon, the problem of waterlogging on the Delhi-Jaipur highway will end in July 2026. For this, the construction work of the leg four drain being built by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is 35 percent complete.

The construction of Leg 4 drain is going on from Vatika Chowk to Delhi-Jaipur Highway. The total length of the drain will be 5.2 km. Rs 105 crore will be spent on the construction of the drain. GMDA officials claim that the construction work of the drain will be completed by December this year.

This will solve the problem of waterlogging in the sectors of new Gurugram including the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. GMDA is also constructing storm drains in the sectors so that they can be connected to Leg 4.

Let us tell you that for the last eight years, Narsinghpur situated on Delhi-Jaipur Highway has been facing heavy waterlogging during monsoon season. Due to this, water enters the premises of the companies here as well.

Brainstorming to make Gurugram a zero waste city

In another instance, the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) of Gurugram city concluded the second phase of its flagship project DROP (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic). The occasion witnessed a thoughtful panel discussion attended by key stakeholders committed to making Gurugram a zero waste city.

In this program, Municipal Corporation Gurugram’s Joint Commissioner Vishal, Swachh Bharat Mission National Cooperative Development Work Institute’s Program Director Dr. Paramita Dutta Dey, Kia India’s Business Planning Head Kapil Bindal, Chief and Coordinating Director of Navjyoti Foundation Dr. Chandni Bedi were present.

On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Joint Commissioner Vishal gave information about the work being done for waste management in Gurugram. He informed that an online registration portal has been made mandatory for areas generating 100 kg or more of waste, such as RWAs, market associations and educational institutions. This initiative will help in streamlining the garbage disposal process and establishing an effective monitoring system.
