GMDA’s bulldozer runs on encroachment in Gurugram, on MG Road and Sohna Road

The enforcement team of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) conducted a campaign against encroachment on MG Road, Sohna Road, Fazilpur Road and Ghasola Road. This campaign was also conducted as per the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer of GMDA to free the master roads, footpaths and green belts under the jurisdiction of the authority from encroachment so that their utility can be increased and they can be further developed for the beautification of Gurugram city. Also, in the regular anti-encroachment campaign being run by GMDA for the last 10 days, major roads and greenbelts of GMDA were freed from illegal encroachment.

Strict action on illegal construction and encroachment

Under the leadership of DTP, GMDA, RS Bath, this campaign started from MG Road, which lasted for three hours. During this, strict action was taken against illegal construction and encroachment. The team of Gurugram Municipal Corporation actively cooperated in this campaign and 27 illegal vehicles were removed from MG Road. The GMDA team was accompanied by traffic police in this drive and they issued around 62 challans for wrong parking and also seized eight cars which were causing traffic jams.

Removal of encroachment by Dhaba operators

The team removed illegal sitting areas created by Dhaba operators at public places on Sohna Road and encroachment by street vendors. They requested all the vendors to vacate the area, otherwise the roadside carts will be removed by DTP enforcement. People present during the drive also requested the DTP to inspect the entry points of Fazilpur Road and Ghasola Road besides other major points on Sohna Road.

Action will be taken on use of polythene

The DTP also inspected the carts set up by the vendors and found that they were using polythene in huge quantities. He directed all of them to stop using plastic and ensure a plastic-free Gurugram city. During the drive, 15 kiosks and five vendors who had encroached Ghasola Road in Sector 49, Sohna Road to Fazilpur Road in Sector 48 were also removed.
