Online Fraud: Bank accounts are becoming empty in the name of these government schemes

Online Fraud: Various welfare schemes of the government are being sent directly to the public’s account through DBT. Fingerprint based transactions are being used for deposit and withdrawal of money in the account and such financial transactions have made people’s life easier but cyber crimes are getting their hands on these rupees. People are becoming victims of cyber fraud every day.

Half of the recorded people have been made victims

Cyber criminals are now calling people in the name of getting benefits of various welfare schemes of the government to defraud the innocent public. In the name of drought relief and PM Samman Kisan Nidhi Yojana, cyber thugs made half a dozen people their victims in Rajnagar and Kharsawan.

Cyber thugs withdrew money from the accounts of Shibu Soren of Gudha village of Rajnagar, Tulsi Das Pradhan, resident of Rungta New Colony, Rajnagar, Rajesh Kumar Vishain, resident of Kolabaria, Rajnagar. Complaint has also been lodged in the local police station.

On receiving the complaint regarding the matter, Rajnagar BDO Malay Kumar took it seriously and appealed to the people not to fall into the trap of cyber fraudsters.

This is how cheating is done

Cyber thugs have the complete list of Drought Relief Scheme and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi from the district. A call comes on the applicant’s mobile number and it is said that they are calling from Amukh block or district.

When asked whether you had filled the form of the Drought Relief Scheme and the beneficiaries who had filled the form of the said scheme, they naturally happily say yes after hearing about getting government benefits. Then the thugs trap them and say that the money is not going into their bank account.

Then their Aadhaar number is taken and a link is sent to them. After clicking on the link, cyber fraudsters send an OTP. As soon as the victim gives the OTP to the cyber thug who calls, the amount is withdrawn from the victim’s account.
