Police in Cyber City have arrested three persons for allegedly extorting Rs 8 million from a 15-year-old girl. They threatened to post objectionable pictures of the 10th grade girl online and transferred money from her grandmother’s bank account.
The accused have been identified as Sumit Kataria and Kusha, residents of Gurugram, and Sumit Tanwar, residents of Mahendragarh, Khudana. Police have produced the accused before the court and remanded them for four days.
On December 21, a woman in Police Station Sector-10 had complained that she had land rupees in her account. His granddaughter used to order goods through online banking from her mobile. Some people threatened to viral the photo of the 15-year-old granddaughter to transfer about Rs 80 lakh from her account.
The youths blackmailed the teenager to transfer about Rs 80 lakh to different bank accounts between February and October. After receiving information that the bank account had run out of money, Grandma asked if the matter was revealed.
Police said that in February, the accused began blackmailing her by editing a photo of the victim. The photo of the teenager passed from one youth to another and several youths blackmailed the teenager to transfer Rs 8 million to different accounts.
Information has been sought from the bank concerned as to how much rupees the teenager has transferred from her grandmother’s bank account to various accounts. How much rupees has been transferred to the account of each accused will be known only after the complete report of the bank account.
Police inquiries have revealed that Rs 5,000 has been transferred to the bank accounts of the accused at different times to about Rs 1 lakh.

In the case, a complaint was filed against seven persons on behalf of the teenager’s grandmother. Police have remanded the three accused on the basis of complaints.
