207 arrest warrants were issued against 20 builders

Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) has approached the High Court against the Gurugram Police for not acting on 207 arrest warrants issued against 20 builders for not giving flats and compensation. Thousands of home buyers are facing serious problems due to the inaction of the police. These arrest warrants were issued between February and September 2024.

Gaurav Singla, New Gurugram. Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) has approached the High Court against the Gurugram Police for not taking action on 207 arrest warrants issued against 20 builders for not giving flats and compensation.

The High Court has summoned the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner of Police Headquarters by sending a notice on the inaction of the police. These warrants are against those developers who have failed to compensate the buyers on the delayed delivery of flats.

Disobeying HRERA orders

These arrest warrants were issued between February and September 2024 and include the names of those developers who have disobeyed the compensation orders of HRERA. HRERA Adjudicating Officer (Decision Officer) Rajendra Kumar says that thousands of home buyers are facing serious problems due to the inaction of the police.

Police has not taken action yet

Rajendra Kumar said that we have issued 207 arrest warrants, but the police have not acted on a single warrant so far. We had to approach the High Court and initiate contempt proceedings against the police. Home buyers are feeling helpless due to the inaction of the police.
